CA-World 1999, New Orleans - July 19, 1999 -- B&L Associates, Inc., a leading provider of computer media management solutions, today announced that Vertices®, B&L's comprehensive, enterprise-wide open systems media management system, has achieved Computer Associates International, Inc.'s prestigious "Unicentered" level of integration. The integration of Vertices with Unicenter TNG gives IT managers the capability to fully integrate removable media with on-line media management and storage activities. B&L also announced that it has joined CA's Unicenter TNG Development Partner Program.
Vertices manages removable physical media such as magnetic tape, disk, CD-ROM, Digital Linear Tape (DLT), and other media that are generated by today's distributed systems. Vertices manages media from a wide array of sources, including Microsoft Windows NT and UNIX, as well as from traditional mainframe environments. It supports corporate-wide operations, including Storage Area Networks (SANs) and Network Attached Storage (NAS), as well as departmental and even desktop level software media management.
